Series of activities lined up for World AIDS Day

Imphal, November 25 2019: As part of the State level observance of World AIDS Day on December 1, Manipur State AIDS Control Society will be organising a State level spot painting competition on the theme, 'Communities make the difference' at the Banquet Hall of 1st Bn Manipur Rifles, Babupara at 8.30 am.

The competition has been divided into two categories: Category I for students studying from classes V to VIII and Category II for classes IX to XII.

Project Director, Manipur State AIDS Control Society, Imphal stated that cash prizes of Rs 5000, Rs 3000 and Rs 2000 will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd position holders respectively in both the categories.

Meanwhile, consolation prizes of Rs 1000 each will be awarded from 4th to 6th position holders.

With a view to involve more youth to join the fight against HIV&AIDS, a Facebook video competition on the same theme will also be organised in which participants will be uploading (on their respective Facebook accounts by tagging Manipur State AIDS Control Society on its timeline) a video recording of them speaking on the theme for two minutes on their mobile phone.

A cash prize of Rs 5000 will be awarded to the video which is most relevant to the theme and gets maximum likes, it added.

Similarly, a red ribbon selfie competition on Facebook will also be organised where the participants have to take a selfie with a red ribbon and upload it on their account by tagging Manipur State AIDS Control Society on its timeline.

The selfie which receives the maximum likes will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 5000.All the cash prizes for the above competition will be distributed at the State level observance of World AIDS Day on December 1 at 1st Bn Manipur Rifles Ground.
