Imphal, October 25 2016: Huyen Lallong Manipur Thang-Ta Cultural Association, one of the premier traditional marital arts institutes of the State, celebrated its 58th foundation day today at its complex located at Irilbung.

As part of the celebration, various martial arts moves, Thang-Ta and traditional songs were showcased.

Vice-chairman of Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy H Tombi stated that Thang-Ta is closely associated with the tradition of Manipur and is an integral part of our society.

He added that the people of the State should take keen interest to conserve traditional art forms.

"Huyen Lallong Manipur Thang-Ta Cultural Association has been working to conserve traditional art forms and it is indeed a good sign that the association has taken up such initiative," Tombi said.

The 58th celebration was also attended by chairperson of Theatre Centre, Manipur Naba Wareppa and director of Huyen Lallong Manipur Thang-Ta Cultural Association K Sanathoiba.
