Imphal, April 24 2019: Naorem Manglemjao, a bedridden former driver who is undergoing treatment was extended monetary aid of Rs 50,000 by Transporter and Drivers Council today.

The monetary aid along with two bags of rice and other edible items were handed over at the residence of Manglemjao at Patsoi Part-I.He used to be driver engaged with the FCI before an accident in October, 2018 which damaged his backbone.

He has been bedbound since the accident.

The monetary aid was extended to assist him in his treatment, said TDC president H Ranjit.

TDC will extend all possible help to Manglemjao, he said and conveyed that the owner of the truck who employed him has also assured help.

Apart from Ranjit, other members of the Transporter and Drivers Council (TDC) were also present at the residence of Manglemjao.
