Training on kouna crafts concludes

A six week skill development training programme on kouna crafts concluded yesterday at the training hall of Monalisha Co-operative Society, Khangabok Mayai Leikai, Thoubal district.
The training programme organised by Extra Green Foundation (EGF) Lamding and supported by Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) Imphal Branch was participated by 50 individuals.
PRI Member of Khangabok Part-II GP Ward No 14/4 Gunita Khundrakpam, BO in Charge of Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) Imphal Branch G Ramkumar Sharma and proprietor of Monalisha Co-operative Society, Khangabok Moirangthem Nityai Singh attended the closing event as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
The main objective of programme was to give skill training to the artisans/individuals for income generation.
It also aimed at preservation of cultural identity associated with the craft for future generation, said officials.
The products that were made by the participants during the training programme were put on display and certificates were distributed to the participants during today's valedictory programme.
