Central team to review ICDS scheme in state

Imphal, October 22 2012: In the wake of alleged misappropriation of huge amount of funds sanctioned for ICDS project under Social Welfare Department, Government of Manipur, an official team from the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development is all set to visit to review implementation of the scheme in Manipur.

The official team would be landing at Imphal on October 30 and they would undertake a field visit to some of the AWCs in Imphal.

The team would leave Imphal on Novemeber 1 .

In connection with the proposed visit, the Ministry has conveyed to the concerned state Department for making necessary arrangements for stay/transport.

Meanwhile, to review the status of release of funds under National Rural Health Mission to the states of Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura, a meeting of all the Government officials concerned has been convened on October 29 in the office of Mission Director, NRHM, Saikia Complex, GS Road, Guwahati.

The meeting would review certain issues including total allocation of 11th Plan; outstanding state contribution; non-furnishing of audited utilization certificate; high unspent balances; lack of MoU, etc.

All the Health Secretaries/Principal Secretaries of the four Northeastern states been informed to attend the meeting as it is a precursor meeting scheduled on November 1 and 2 .
