NPO appeals for peace during Christmas

Addressing the continuous eruption of gun-battles between different Naga factions in Manipur and Nagaland, the Naga People's Organisation (NPO) appealed for tranquillity and peaceful during the holy months of every Christians.
A release issued by the organisation condemned the killing of one NSCN (IM) during the factional feud between Zeliangrong united Front (ZUF) and NSCN (IM).
It is also mentioned that the gun battle hailed between NSCN (K) and GPRN/NSCN (Khehoi) at Naharbari of Dimapur on December 19 has seriously affected the public's cry for communal harmony.
Calling for immediate cease fire and halt of all provocative activities between the Naga groups, NPO again appealed for sanity and peace to return to the land of Nagas during the holy season of forgiveness and celebration of brotherhood.
The organisation further appealed to the KCP (MTF) to suspend the 36 hour general strike that started today morning.
'It said that in connection with the Christmas festival, common people both from valley and hill areas are heavily depending on Imphal for shopping and other religious activities.
