Maram Battalion recovers arms, ammos

Senapati, July 21 2022:
Maram Battalion of Jwalamukhi sector IGAR (E) recovered arms and ammunition from general area of Senapati-Ngatan-Khamsom road under Senapati district on Wednesday.
According to the Maram Battalion, its team launched an operation covering multiple stops and tracks leading to Senapati town.
At about 4.55 am, a motor cycle was stopped for verification along Sorbung Junction on the Senapati-Khamson road.
While searching the motor cycle, suddenly a car from a distance was noticed approaching towards the check point.
However, the suspicious car stopped at a distance of around 400-500 metres short of the heck point.
On noticing the suspicious activity of the car, the troops under the company commander rushed towards the suspicious car it tried to flee only to fall into a drain.
One individual was noticed rushing out of the car and fleeing the scene taking advantage of thick foliage of the adjoining forest.
Detailed search of the car was carried out which resulted in the recovery of huge cache of arms and ammunition hidden beneath the rear seat.
The recovered arms and ammunition included one AK-56 rifle, two 7.65 pistols, one AK-56 magazine, two pistol magazines, thirteen 7.62mm rounds, and fifteen
rounds of 7.65mm.The recovered items long with the seized Maruti 800 (WB20H 7838) have been handed over to the Senapati Police Station.
