Mao Council's 24-hr band against Dz�kou Valley encroachment gets support from organisations

Imphal, May 21 2015 :
A 24-hour general strike will be called in protest against the alleged encroachment in Dz�kou Valley.
It will become effective from Friday midnight.
A press meet was held on Thursday at Manipur Press Club by the joint committee who called the strike.
Its spokesperson Boi said that the committee had earlier submitted many memoranda to the Manipur CM regarding the issue, but his government did not give any response thereby showing its negligence on this important issue.
After the strike, the committee will give a deadline upto June1 .The committee further warned that it will call indefinite economic blockade in the national highways of the state from June 1 .
Many prominent valley organisations such AMUCO, AMSU, NIPCO and others have been showing their support to the strike.
MPP also announced its support.
UCM, AMUCO appeal
United Committee Manipur (UCM) and All Manipur United Clubs Organization (AMUCO) appealed all people to support on the 24 hour state wide bandh on from May 22 midnight against the land encouragement in the Dz�kou Valley by the Nagaland people which the Government remains silent.
This was informed by UCM IPR Secretary Leisemba Lamabam.
Bodies supports Mao Council
Civil Society Organisations are pouring in their support to the strike called by Mao Council protesting against Manipur Government's indifferent attitude towards land encroachment at Dz�kou and Kojurii by Southern Angami People's Organisation.
Committee of Civil Societies Kangleipak which os the umbrella body of AMYPCO, UNACSU, HRD, SUK, KWWA, WWOK, NYLAK, CHITUWA, Kangleichal in a press release expressed that the matter should be solved soon in order to prevent any untoward incident between the villagers residing in the border areas.
It also mentioned that land encroachment by Southern Angami People's Organisation is a big issue and Manipur State Government should keep its word of safeguarding territorial integrity before mass agitation breaks out.
Muslim Council Manipur appeals
Muslim Council Manipur (MCM) extended support on the 24 hour state wide bandh called by the Mao Council and many other civil organization against the land encouragement at Dz�kou Valley by the Nagaland People on may 22 midnight to 23 midnight.
In a statement issued by the MCM General Secretary Haji Arafat, soght the Manipur Government for being silent on the issued.
MCM urged the State Government to take immediate steps against such actions and stop further construction by the Nagaland Government done in the State territory.
He demanded the Government to frequent check on the territorial boundaries which is great threat to the Manipur people and State integrity.
