Street corner campaign on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan commences

A street comer campaign on 'Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan' (Drug Free India campaign) was flagged off from Bishnupur Mini Secretariat complex by Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur Lourembam Bikram yesterday.
The 3-day street comer campaign will be conducted at Nambol, Bishnupur and Moirang blocks in the district by New Life Foundation under the aegis of the District Administration Bishnupur.
The campaign has been organised as a part of the ongoing Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan which was launched by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India in 2019 to raise mass awareness about substance abuse thereby striving for a drug free country.
The flagging off event was also attended District Level Officers, Additional SP (Ops) L Amarjit; Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) N Chingkhei; Social Welfare Officer N Jotish; Chief Medical Officer (CMO) L Raichandra and Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Bishnupur Deputy Director Dr Salam Dhana among others.
During the street comer campaign, the masses will be sensitized on the adverse impacts of substance among the youths in particular and their families and its preventive measures.
For the first day, volunteers of New Life Foundation conducted the campaign at various places under the Moirang block.
With an aim to have a far reaching impact, poster campaigns, street plays, signature campaigns, video awareness etc will also be carried out.
