Imphal, January 20 2020: A State level workshop on Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and Swachh Bharat Mission (GRAMIN) was organised by Public Health Engineering Department at Sangai hall, Hotel Imphal today.

PHED Minister L Dikho, Chief Secretary Dr J Suresh Babu, Commissioner PHE Nidhi Kesarwani and Deputy Advisor, DDWS, Ministry of Jal Shakti, GoI A Murlidharan attended the function.

Stressing the importance of organising the workshop, L Dikho maintained that the Indian Government has set its target for provision of tap water at every household by 2024.He added that the public need to understand and extend their participation and support to make this mission successful.

The Swachh Bharat mission is being implemented successfully too, he said.

The Minister stated that there are villages where not a single plastic was seen which denotes that the people there are mindful about environment conservation and aware of the Swachh Bharat Mission.
