Daily cases decline, TPR rises, caseload over 2K

Imphal, January 19 2022:
With the detection of 358 new cases on Wednesday including maximum of 159 positive cases in ImphalWest district, the caseload has crossed the 2000 mark as the state continues to reel under the impact of the third wave.
Though the number of daily cases was slightly lower than Tuesday's figure of record spike of 380 the test positivity rate (TPR) of 14.3 per cent recorded on Wednesday was the second highest during the current wave.
While Imphal West district had most number of samples tested in the last 24 hours at 879 the overall test capacity dropped to 2508 from the previous day's record of 2724 samples.
According to the daily update of Common Control Room, there was no Covid related fatality on Wednesday while record number of 145 persons were discharged from home isolation (54), JNIMS (10) and CCCs (81) .
Out of the active cases of 2004, including 1704 general population and 300 central security personnel, 595 of them are in home isolation, 22 in the 300-bed capacity JNIMS and 190 in RIMS which has intake capacity of 190 Covid patients.
Compared to positive cases reported from 13 out of the 16 districts on Tuesday, only Jiribam reported no positive cases in the last 24 hours though 158 samples were tested in the border district.
In yet another record of sort since out-break of the pandemic, the number of females (182) found infected with the contagious disease on Wednesday was more than their male counterparts (153) while central armed police force (CAPF) personnel accounted for 23 of the day's cases as per the Control Room report which informed that the infections were confirmed at RIMS (44), JNIMS.
(52) and other testing centres (262).The positive cases are from Imphal East (78 with TPR of 18.9 per cent), Imphal West (156/17.7 per cent), Thoubal (15/10.3 per cent), Bishnupur (16/12.2 per cent), Kakching (7/13.5 per cent), Kangpokpi (1/3.6 per cent), Noney (6/19.4 per cent), Ukhrul (1/6.3 per cent), Tamenglong (8/12.1 per cent), Tengnoupal (3/25 per cent), Senapati (2/0.8 per cent), Chandel (l7/23per cent), Churachandpur (44/18.9 per cent), Pherzawl (1/16.7 percent) and Kamjong (3/23.1 per cent) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, said the Control Room.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,28,231 (general population - 1,23,467 and CAPF personnel - 4,764).Number of recovered eases is 1,24,212 (general population -1,19,754 and CAPF personnel - 4,458) .
The number of active cases consists of 1704 patients from among the general population and 300 CAPF personnel while the recovery rate declined to 96.86 per cent from 97.02 per cent on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, a total of 138 D-type and 68 B-type Oxygen cylinders were distributed to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
The number of Covid-19 vaccines administered on Tuesday was 6630 compared to 8452 persons inoculated on Monday.
The cumulative number of vaccinated persons reached 24,03,077 out of which 10,24,129 have received the second dose and 9268 have been administered with the precautionary dose.
As per the official report, the total number of cases in different districts are Imphal West (45,069), Imphal East (28,464), Thoubal (9605), Churachandpur (10,518), Kangpokpi (2839), Tamenglong (3302), Bishnupur (9321), Senapati (2318), Ukhrul (3080), Kakching (6519), Chandel (2485), Noney (1106), Tengnoupal (1093), Jiribam (1050), Kamjong (997) and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts remain unchanged with Imphal West topping the chart at 676 deaths, Imphal East (483), Thoubal (179), Churachandpur (163), Kangpokpi (64), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (195), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (45), Kakching (116), Chandel (4l), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
