Renowned film actress Huirem Seema passes away

Imphal, September 18 2011: Renowned film actress of Manipuri cinema, Huirem Seema passed away after battling an illness at Shija Hospital yesterday morning.

She is survived by two sons and her husband.

Huirem Seema in her career spanning over two decades, had acted in 15 Manipuri feature films(35mm) and over 100 digital films.

She also produced 4 digital films in her career.

Apart from essaying diverse roles in different films she also acted in 8 teleplays of DDK, Imphal, 2 teleserial in DD-I, a PPC (NE) and a non feature film.

She was conferred the best actress award for her role in the film Kanaga Hinghougani and Nongju Ahing, Best Supporting Actress for her role in Aroiba Bidai and Lakhipurgee Lakhipyari.

Yening Amadi Likla and Ngaihak Lambida, two films in which she acted made it to the Indian Panorama.

Meanwhile, different organizations and associations connected with the film industry of the state, Television Producers' association, Manipur, All Manipur Film Producer Association, Critics Association Manipur, Film Academy, Manipur, All Manipur Video Film Makers and Producers Association, Film Editors' Guild, Manipur have mourned the sudden demise of the renowned actress.
