AR advances health, hygiene initiatives

Under the aegis of IGAR( South), Assam Rifles has taken significant strides in promoting health and hygiene in Manipur through a series of impactful initiatives.
According to a release issued by PRO HQ IGAR(S), on July 16, 2024, Assam Rifles in collaboration with District Health Authorities of Tengnoupal, conducted a Health Checkup cum Medical Camp at Kwatha village, Tengnoupal district.
The initiative aimed to improve mutual trust and provide essential healthcare services to the local population.
A total of 95 villagers, including women and children, were examined during the camp.
Special focus was given to counseling civilians on health, hygiene, and the prevention of seasonal and contagious diseases.
Continuing their commitment to public health, Assam Rifles also distributed essential water purification materials at the Student Welfare Community Hall in Thongju Pheijaleitong, Imphal East district, on July 17, 2024.This effort, conducted in partnership with Bijoy Koijam, ex MLA of Thongju AC, aimed to address immediate water quality concerns following recent challenges related to water availability.
These initiatives underscored Assam Rifles' dedication to the well-being of the people of Manipur, going beyond their traditional role as a security force to act as a vital support pillar in times of need.
