Senapati, January 17 2020:
The indefinite economic block-ade called by three truck unions of Senapati district, has been called off for 15 days, following a meeting with the Chief Minister at his office in the presence of T & HA Minister N Kayisii today.
Speaking to media persons at a location in Senapati in the presence of representatives of the three unions, namely Senapati District Truck Owners Association, Senapati District Truck Drivers Union and the Senapati District Truck Drivers Welfare Union, T Abraham, information and publicity secretary of Senapati District Truck Owners Association, stated that on the request of the Chief Minister to give 15 days time for necessary departmental enquiry to terminate ASI Hitler Singh, who was involved in the physical harassment of a driver, the three unions decided to suspend the economic blockade temporarily.
However, he warned that the unions would be compelled to resume agitation if their demand is not met within the said period.
On the other hand, the unions also express gratitude to the public for their support and cooperation for the end of justice, he added.
