Sit-in protest on ILP continues

Imphal, July 14 2015 : Meira Paibis and locals on Tuesday staged a sit-in protest at Thouda Bhabok Leikai demanding the withdrawal of controversial bill and passed a new bill to implement ILP in the state.

Waishel Maril Semgatpa Lup Women Wing Advisor, Laishram Sobita in the protest expressed the condemnation on State Govt.for not taking the issue of ILP seriously.

They also condemned the state police for killing an innocent student and injuring many others and also attack on Councilor Ramakanta.They warned the Govt.to launch more aggressive actions against the state if ILP is not implemented in Manipur.

Sit-in protest was organised at Kwakeithel Lamdong Keithel by Meira Paibis and locals.

They demanded the safeguard of indigenous people in Manipur, implementation of ILP in the state and the withdrawal of earlier passed bill.

Loukrakpam Leikai Nambul Mapal Meira Paibi Lup also stateg a sit-in protest at Nambul Mapal to support ILP movement in the state.

Meanwhile Awang Potsangbam Khunou Meira Paibi and Club on Monday organised sit-in protest at Awang Potsangbam Khunou Lamkhai.

They demanded the resignation of state leaders and effigy of state CM O Ibobi was burnt down.

Wangkhei Koijam Leikai, Wangkhei Topam Leikai, Wangkhei Pukhrambam Leikai and Wangkhei Hijam Leikai blocked road and staged sit-in protest.

"Implement ILP in Manipur", "we condemn the killing of Robinhood", "punish police personnel who killed Robinhood" were shouted at the protest.

People of Yaiskul Police Lane also came out and staged sit-in protest in front of CD Byte.
