Neat Fest begins at Ukhrul

Ukhrul, December 13 2019:
A three day North East Agro-Business Trade (Neat) Festival 2019 was inaugurated by Ukhrul Autonomous District Council (UADC) Chairman Dr Yaronsho Ngalung at Mission Ground Alungtang, Ukhrul on Thursday.
Dr Yaronsho Ngalung cut the ribbon and opened the festival in the presence of DC, UkhruJJoseph Pauline Kamson and Councillor, M Iboyaima Meitei.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Commissioner, Ukhrul Joseph Pauline Kamson mentioned that NERCoRMP is striving their best by forming SHGs, NaRMG in the North East region to uplift the economy of the rural people.
District Project Director, NERCORMP, Ukhrul, Lily Rose spoke about the main objective of organising the festival.
Neat fest which is celebrated under the banner "Witness the Richness of North East " aimed at showcasing the Agri-horti produces of the North Eastern region and also to facilitate linkage between the producers-buyers-financial institutions and agencies like NERAMAC, CBTC, NeDFI, FSSAI, Trade and Commerce etc.
She said, NERCORMP, Ukhrul is hosting the event at a regional level.
Products like black rice, beans colocasia, perkia, tea, cashew nuts, orange, kiwi, pineapple, lemon, handloom, handicraft etc would be sold and displayed in the festival.
The festival would provide an avenue for interaction and exchange of ideas among the farmers, including with those coming from other States.
Later, the chief guest Dr Yaronsho Ngalung released the souvenir of Neat fest 2019.Altogether 70 stalls are being set up in the festival.
