Tangkhuls inextricably part of India: Pandey

In a day-long seminar on the "Role of Tangkhuls in Manipur" organised by 16 Assam Rifles at Shangsak today, Brig Arun K Pandey outlined the need to preserve the rich and diverse culture of the Nagas and said that Tangkhuls are inextricably part of India.
Brig Arun K Pandey, who attended as Chief Guest of the inaugural function of the seminar held at 16 Assam Rifles at Shangsak, stated that Tangkhuls are inextricably part of India and whatever that had been done in the past cannot be undone.
The chief guest also said that the vast land is a biggest asset of the Tangkhuls and must be handed down to the younger generation who are caught in the wave of change and modernity.
Brig Pandey felt that the media and NGOs should also play a constructive role in the development of society.
He also stressed on the need to document the rich culture of the Tangkhuls and Nagas, In the seminar, Dr.Ringkahao Horam, WD director Tennyson Kazingmei and journalist Sothing Shimray who is also the President of Ukhrul District Journalists' Association (UDJA), attended as resource persons.
