Imphal, September 13 2024:
National Identity Protection Council (NIPCO) celebrated its 24th foundation day at its Keishamthong office on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, NIPCO president Oinam Premjit strongly condemned the attacks carried out by the Chin-Kuki terrorists since May 3, 2023, which have resulted in the loss of many lives and injuries to hundreds, and further denounced the use of advanced weaponry such as drones and missiles in these attacks.
Urging both state and central governments to restore peace and normalcy in the state by taking up effective measures, he made it clear that there is no need for government if it cannot protect lives and properties of the people.
Observing that distrust towards AR by the people is because of their failure to maintain neutrality and evidences of AR siding with Kuki militants, Premjit condemned continuous deployment of central forces in the state to suppress Meeteis by aiding the Kukis.
Meanwhile, floral tributes were paid to those who sacrificed their lives for the land.
The foundation day celebration was attended by NIPCO general secretary Siraj Nongyaimayum, UPF Manipur president Nongthombam Rupachandra, CADA president Hijam Priyokumar, and MAPI Council president KC
Romio as presidium members.
