Kakching, September 13 2019:
In connection with the alleged declaration made by Kakching Water Supply & Sanitation Development Committee and its staff stating that the Kakching water supply will not be able to provide water for four to five days owing to the flooding of pump, which is used to pump water from Sekmai river to channel it to the consumers concerned, All Kakching Students' Union has underlined the negligence of the authorities concerned in looking after the equipment and in taking precautionary measures on time.
A press release issued by secretary general AKSU stated that it has been years after the water supply was upgraded and that the water level of Sekmai river is not increased in one day.
As such the authorities concerned should take up precautionary measures or at least keep a look out of natural calamities which could affect the equipment/machineries like the water pump.
AKSU urged the PHED to look into the matter at the earliest while cautioning that failing to provide water for five days is embarrassing in today's modern date.
