Gaikhangam urges

Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam has urged the Christian people to become the torch bearer in spreading the message of communal harmony in the State.
The Deputy Chief Minister was speaking as chief guest at the closing function of three-day Golden Jubilee celebration of Waithou Chiru Baptist Church today.
Gaikhangam urged the Kuki and Naga communities to forget the past so that the communal clash instigated by some vested individuals does not happen again.
The Deputy Chief Minister also called on the gathering to spread the message of God to bring prosperity in the State.
He also urged not to forget and disregard the teachings of the God written in the Bible.
Saying that celebration of Golden Jubilee is the moment when the God showers his blessings of love to the people for all the good works done in the past 50 years, Gaikhangam said that this happy moment recounts all the charitable works and good deeds done by the Church.
He said, "We must not have fear to sacrifice ourself for truth, and we must assess ourself how much love we can shower to other" .
If one wishes to get the beauty of life, he/she must learn to love his/her enemy, he added.
MLA Karam Thamarjit while speaking at the function urged to leave aside personal aspirations and strive together to bring communal harmony.
He also urged the people of the State to live together as members of a same family.
