Imphal, May 12 2020: Union of Social Upliftment (USU) has welcomed all the stranded Manipuris arriving from outside the State and those who have already returned home.

USU, a union body of clubs and organisations based in Imphal East, has urged all to undergo the quarantine period at the centres provided by the State Government.

Manipur is comparatively safer, said USU, and noted the active role taken by the State Government to keep COVID-19 at bay.

Units of USU namely Khurai Social Youth Club, Netaji Memorial Club, YSCCIC, UPC, KSWC, KSDO etc have been taking an active role to keep the virus at bay from the day the Nationwide lockdown was enforced.

Moreover, a committee called "USU'S COVID-19 Working Committee" was formed after a meeting presided by Th Rohinikumar, president USU to cooperate with the State Government and their respective MLAs in Imphal East district, it added.
