Leesana Foundation extends aids to Women Old-Age Home

Leesana Foundation on Friday distributed clothes and other essential items to Raja Dhumbra Singh Women Old-Age Home, Nongmeibung Purana Rajbari in memory of late Soubam Leesana, also fondly called Rison of Sega Road Konjeng Hajari Leikai who passed away in an unfortunate road mishap on March 21 last at Maibam Lotpa-Ching area of Tiddim Road.
Raja Dhumbra Singh Women Old-Age Home is run by All Manipur Women Association and the help was extended in connection with the ninth-month death observation of late Soubam Leesana.
All Manipur Women Association (AMWA) President K Binodini; All Manipur Women Association Vice President N Binashakhi; All Manipur Women Association Secretary Th Priyadarshini; Leesana Foundation Treasurer and Hueiyen Lanpao Publisher Soubam Niladhaja and DI Lilong Lourembam Dilip Meetei attended the aid distribution function.

DI Lilong Lourembam Dilip Meetei, speaking on behalf of Leesana Foundation, stated that Leesana Foundation Charitable Trust was established to follow the path and aspirations of late Leesana that aimed to lend a helping hand to the helpless children and the aged people of the State.
Leesana always dreamt of extending all possible help to the needy.
Since then, the trust has been providing aids to many homes for children and the aged and fondly remembering the contributions made by Leesana, said Dilip Meetei.
He also mentioned that Leesana was a kind hearted soul who always wanted to provide the much needed succour to the needy.
AMWA President K Binodini stated that AMWA was founded in 1967 and since then it has shared the responsibility of looking after the welfare of the downtrodden women.
As a part of its role in society, the association started running the Raja Dhumbra Singh Women Old-Age Home since 1976 and now apart from the home, the association has opened a short-stay home only for women and also a hostel for working women, mentioned K Binodini.
The AMWA President also lauded the Leesana Foundation for extending help to the home where around 20 aged women are being sheltered.
Encouraging the trust to keep performing the commendable deeds in the future, K Binodini also prayed for Leesana so that he could be reborn as a human being who can immensely contribute to the welfare of the people.
