NYL Thoubal kicks off GMB campaign with social service camp

The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India has launched the Gandagi Mukh Bharat (GMB) campaign - a special week long campaign for 'swachhta' from August 8 to 15, stated a press release issued by the Nehru Yuva Kendra Thoubal.
As part of the campaign, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, in collaboration with the NYKS affiliated youth clubs will be carrying out various activities related to cleanliness.
The Nehru Yuva Kendra Thoubal, in collaboration with Kshetrileikai Rising Club, Kshetri Leikai has kicked off the GMB campaign with a social service camp to collect and segregate single use plastic on August 9 which was followed up with 'Shramdan' on August 10 to whitewash/clean public buildings.
On August 11, NYK Thoubal in association with Athokpam Welfare Club (AWC) and District Library cum Youth Centre (DLCYC), Athokpam, undertook a 'Tree plantation and sanitation drive' at Athokpam, it said.
Further, an online painting and essay competition on SBM theme, wall painting and more cleanliness drives will be conducted in the coming days till August 15, 2020 .
