State reports one death, 210 new cases

Imphal, September 10 2021:
The state on Friday reported one fatality and 210 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 3100 samples tested, thus registering a positivity rate of 6.77 per cent against 7.14 per cent recorded on Thursday.
The victim was from Imphal East district and was not vaccinated.
With this, the cumulative death toll from Covid infection in the state has reached 1807 now.
Though the overall positivity rate remains in single digit; Imphal East (10.4 pc), Kamjong (10.7 pc) and Ukhrul (12.6 pc) districts reported double digit positivity rate.
The active caseload came down to 2769 out of which 732 (26.44 per cent) are in home isolation.
As of Friday evening, 550 beds including 100 ICU/HDU beds are available in different hospitals.
There is no updated information on bed vacancy in other facilities.
So far, the state has recorded 87,207 positive cases and 1433 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of Covid pandemic out of which 1833 new cases and 15 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, all the 210 new positive cases (102 male & 108 female) are from among the general population and their samples were tested at RIMS (15), JNIMS (22) and other testing centres (73) .
The positive cases are from Imphal East (57), Imphal West (80), Thoubal (7), Bishnupur (II), Kakching (2), Ukhrul (14), Churachandpur (32), Chandel (2), Senapati (1), Kamjong (3) and Kangpokpi(1) .
In the last 24 hours, 261 patients were discharged from home isolation (100), RIMS (11), JNIMS (5), CCCs (100) and CHICS (45) .
However, 397 already discharged cases were reported only on Friday and the total number of recovered cases is considered as 658.The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,16,607 (general population - 1,12,440 and CAPF personnel - 4,167) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,12,031 (general population - 1,07,910 and CAPF personnel - 4,121) and number of active cases is 2,769 (general population - 2728 and CAPF personnel - 41) .
The recovery rate is 96.08 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1343 D-type and 337 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
Only 3272 vaccine doses were administered on Thursday and the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals has reached 11,98,915 including 3,85,971 fully vaccinated people.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (39,621), Imphal East (25,842), Thoubal (9214), Churachandpur (9856), Kangpokpi (2675), Tamenglong (3207), Bishnupur (8857), Senapati (2118), Ukhrul (2475), Kakching (6268), Chandel (2207), Noney (1051), Tengnoupal (1019), Jiribam (1012), Kamjong (761) and Pherzawl (424) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (597), Imphal East (428), Thoubal (166), Churachandpur (154), Kangpokpi (56), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (184), Senapati (8), Ukhrul (29), Kakching (110), Chandel (34), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (4) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 37,579 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 23,803 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,00,978 tests per million population against the national average of 3,85,523 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.55 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 3100 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 6.77 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity comes down to 9.37 per cent.
