Locals condemn gun, bomb attacks

Bishnupur, August 10 2024: Meira paibis, local clubs and organisations of Moirang and Ibudhou Thangjing Pana have strongly condemned the recent gun and bomb attacks by Kuki militants at Phougakchao Ikhai, Torbung and Moirang on August 8 and 9.According a statement issued by Y Tomba Singh, convenor, Ibudhou Thangjing Pana, a joint meeting of meira paibis, clubs, organisations and leaders of the Pana was held yesterday at Phougak Ikhai Mamang Leikai community hall to discuss the violent attacks.

The gathering strongly condemned the gunfire and bomb attacks in residential areas of Torbung and Phougakchao Ikhai around 2:10 pm on August 8 and the firing of five rounds at Thamnapokpi under Moirang AC on August 9 around 6:45 pm.

Stating that these acts have caused fear and anxiety among the residents, Ibudhou Thangjing Pana has urged the State Government to monitor the situation.
