COVID positive woman delivers baby

Imphal, August 10 2020: Even though a young expectant woman from Puichi village, Haochong sub-division, Noney district was denied admission in as many as five hospitals including JNIMS and RIMS which ultimately led to her tragic death a few days back, a COVID-19 positive woman from Lilong, Thoubal district delivered a baby at RIMS this morning.

The woman was brought to the hospital's emergency ward for child delivery yesterday afternoon.

Although the woman tested negative after rapid antigen test at Lilong PHC on August 8, she was tested again for COVID-19 as per the RIMS SOP and she was found positive.

Nonetheless, the woman delivered a healthy baby at around 2.20 am at RIMS today, sources informed.
