He said the 11 Muslim labourers from Assam were supposed to work here for a Kolkata-based construction companySimplex Projects Limited.
A contractor named Md Jarbur from Assam reportedly sent the labourers to the Manipur to engage them in a construction work, Shanta said.
The FRIENDS leader pointed out that several social organizations are currently launching agitation to press the demand for introduction of Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the State and lamented that some transporters are taking money from illegal non-local labourers from other States to bring them here.
Shanta appealed to the Royal Rajdhani bus passenger service to take extra care next time while boarding non-local workers who do not have proper documents.
