CBI allowed to file prosecution sanction

Session Judge Imphal West has allowed an application of the CBI for filing prosecution sanction against 15 police personnel against whom it (CBI) had submitted charge sheet in connection with two different alleged fake encounter/ extra judicial killing cases.
The application was filed by the Special PP of the CBI and as the defense counsels of the accused personnel raised no objection to the application, the Court allowed the application and fixed May 27 for the charge hearing of the 2 different alleged fake encounter/extra judicial killing cases against the 15 police personnel.
During the hearing today, 10 (out of the 15 police personnel) appeared before the Court.
It may be mentioned that CBI had submitted two different charge sheets against the said 15 police personnel in connection with the alleged fake encounter killing of RK Laksana alias Victo on February 15, 1999, at Mayang Langjing area as well as in connection with the killing of six individuals at Awang Khunou, in two different fake encounter cases by a combined team of Imphal West Commando and 12 Maratha Light Infantry on September 8, 2009 .
On November 26 last year, CBI had submitted the charge sheet in connection with alleged fake encounter of RK Laksana against Inspector Pebam John (then SI of Imphal West commando), then Constable Longjam Lokhon, then Constable Thangkhomang Kipgen, Constable K Bijoy Tarao and then Constable Fazur Rehman, by the IO of the case Sh Pravender Kumar PI, AC-III, CBI New Delhi, under different sections.
CBI, on January 11 this year, submitted the charge sheet for the trial against 10 police personnel in connection at Awang Khunou, in two alleged fake encounter cases in the intervening night of September 7 and 8, 2009 .
The charge sheet was submitted by Sub Inspector SK Panchal, CBI/SIT New Delhi against then Subedar Irengbam Khaba alias I Khaba, then Head Constable (driver) H Premjit , Constable Yengkhom Ibomcha, Constable Pebam Sanayaima, Constable Soibam Premjit, Constable Oinam Inaoton, Havildar Laishram Premkumar, Constable Laishram Naba, Constable P Ibomcha and Constable Mayanglambam Chitrajit.
