Parking arrangements for Rahul's visit

Imphal, December 08 2012: In connection with the proposed visit of All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary and MP Rahul Gandhi in the state on Sunday, Superintendents of Police Imphal West and East districts have arranged parking for vehicles carrying passengers coming to attend the function to be addressed by the visiting Congress leader at Hafta Kangjeibung.

According to statements issued by the respective SPs of both the districts, vehicles coming from Uripok Kangchup Road, Sekmai side, Pangei side and Sawombung-Ukhrul sides would be parked at New Checkon crossing while those coming along Tiddim Road, Myanmar-Sugnu Road, Mayai Lambi and Wangkhei-Andro side would park at Ningthem Pukhri Mapal.

Moreover, vehicles coming from Nityaipat Chuthek shall be diverted at GPO towards Singh & Co and all vehicles coming from Secretariat side shall be diverted towards Nityaipat Chuthek.

All vehicles shall be stopped/diverted at their respective parking palaces at Nityaipat Pukhri Mapal, Wangkhei Puja Ground, Kongba crossing, Palace Compound crossing and New Checkon crossing till the function is over.

The Auto rickshaw parking near the Western gate of Kangla (NH2) shall be maintained at the Southern side of NH-2 opposite J N Dance Academy till the function is over.

Public who are attending the meeting would proceed by foot to the place of function from all the parking stations, the statements added.
