Imphal, August 08 2015 :
Joint Students' Coordination Committee (JSCC), an umbrella body of AMSU, MSF and SUK, has said people of Manipur are not satisfied with the mere suspension of six cops in connection with the killing of Sapam Robinhood.
The duty magistrate, ASI and SI who were supervising the police crackdown against student protesters that led to the death of Sapam Robinhood on July 8, must also be put under suspension as an initial step to deliver justice, demanded a statement released by JSCC media coordinator Manjit Sarangthem on Saturday.
JSCC flayed the State Government as all the police officers who were on duty are getting scot-free even after the death of Sapam Robinhood completed one month on Saturday.
Taking on Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam who is also the Home Minister, the organisation called him a "timid leader" and demanded his resignation on moral grounds.
JSCC demanded Education Minister M Okendro to bring back normalcy in all educational institutes which have been allegedly militarized.
The Coordination Committee also declared that the Government must know that the student community is not reluctant to sacrifice life in demanding introduction of Inner Line Permit System (ILPS) to safeguard the interests of the indigenous people.
