Caseload crosses 100, 22 new cases detected

Imphal, July 08 2022:
The number of active Covid-19 cases of Covid-19 in the state has reached 118 as government bulletins on Friday reported 22 new positive cases from seven districts, out of 223 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering 9.87 per cent positivity rate.
The 22 fresh cases (6 male & 16 female) are residents of Imphal West (13), Imphal East (4), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (1), Kamjong (1), Chandel (1) and Churachandpur (1) districts.
Friday also reported one recovery from home isolation but no death case.
Out of the 118 active cases, 101 are in home isolation.
Till date, the pandemic has claimed lives of 194 vaccinated people, out of which 61 had received second doses of Covid vaccine.
The current month has reported 119 new positive cases so far.
The cumulative positivity rate for the current month is 8.32 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 196 D-type and 51 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities and 2532 vaccine doses administered taking the cumulative number of vaccinated population to 15,96,976.As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48832), Imphal East (30487), Thoubal (10167), Churachandpur (11057), Kangpokpi (3137), Tamenglong (3478), Bishnupur (9847), Senapati (2495), Ukhrul (3281), Kakching (6901), Chandel (2732), Noney (1161), Tengnoupal (1201), Jiribam (1111), Kamjong (1037), and Pherzawl (465).Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,276 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,973 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,20,825 tests per million population against the national average of 6,15,178 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent and the recovery rate came down to 98.37 per cent.
The cumulative positivity rate stands 8.50 per cent.
