Students demand regular Principal; CCpur College to be shut down from today

CCpur, April 07 2019: The Students Union of Churachandpur College has announced its decision yesterday to shut down the College beginning Monday as their demand for appointment of a regular Principal following the retirement of the incumbent head on February 28 remains to be conformed with.

The closure of the College, one of the best in the hills districts with over 4000 student enrolment in 2018-19 session alone is likely to affect the career of thousands of students.

In a statement issued to the press, the students union said they have on more-than one occasion pleaded the State Govt for appointment of a regular Principal as the absence of a regular Principal till date paralysed both the academic and administration of the College.

They have even personally discussed the issue with the Education Minister, the district in-charge minister and the commissioner concern on March 27, and again on April 1, but the Govt still fails to issue any appointment, said the students union adding they are compelled to the extreme form of agitation for the welfare of the student community.
