Imphal, April 07 2015 :
The United Naga Council (UNC) today said that any policies, programmes and activities of any political party(s) or individual(s) who either in speech, written statement, visual display or in action oppose the established and registered political position of the Nagas will be treated as 'anti-Nagas' .
In a statement, UNC said that the more than half a decade old Indo-Naga political dialogue has reached a point where a lasting settlement is near.
At the same time the demand for an Alternative Arrangement for the Nagas of Manipur, outside the Government of Manipur, pending a final settlement to the Indo-Naga political engagement has reached a crucial stage, said UNC and added that in the democratic process of dialogue, the Government of India has committed in writing to set up a high level committee to work out and translate the demand into a political reality.
As such any situation that endanger or jeopardize the established position built up with blood and tears should not be allowed into the land of the Nagas, added the statement.
Reiterating the UNC's declaration of the 3rd NPC of July 1, 2010 at Tahamzam (Senapati) Hqtrs declaring severance of political ties with the "communal Government of Manipur" and the subsequent resolutions of the UNC Council Assembly and UNC Presidential meetings, the UNC said that the Chief Minister and his Council of Ministers and MLAs and un-mandated ADC members of "the communal Government of Manipur" who have been allegedly suppressing and oppressing the Naga peoples' rights and their political aspiration are not welcome and their entry in Naga areas under the guise of development programme, inaugurations, laying of foundation stones, seminars, workshops, conference etc in any manner and whatsoever are not welcome.
Therefore, the UNC urged the presidents of Naga tribe hohos and Naga frontal organisations to extend fullest cooperation and take up appropriate measures in their respective jurisdictions in the larger interest of the Naga people.
Any group (s) or individual (s) defying the directive of peaceful and democratic appeal shall be at their own risk, it cautioned.
