Three Councilors suspended by IMC Chairperson

Imphal, November 06 2012: Out of eleven councilors in Imphal Municipal Council (IMC), three of them who have allegedly played active role in moving the No Confidence Motion (IMC) against their Chairperson N Raghumani, have been removed from their respective posts.

According to official sources, the three councilors who have been removed are L Arunkumar of ward no.4 (Finance), M Subhaschandra of ward no.16 (Works) and Sh Umesh of ward no.21 (Sanitation).

The Chairperson has submitted the dismissal order of the three councilors from their respective posts to the Committee Officer yesterday.

Sources further revealed that the order was passed after a serious deliberation over the written complaints forwarded to the Chairperson by some of the councilors charging the three councilors of not performing their works and duties efficiently.

Since they were been removed from their respective posts, the three councilors have not only charged the Chairperson on various irrelevant grounds in order to cover up their mistakes but also initiated moving of the No Confidence Motion, sources close to the Chairperson said.

The sources went on to disclose that other councilors who are holding different posts and are involved in moving the No Confidence Motion like Ph Praneshwari of ward no.6 (Planning and Publicity), A Nimai of ward no.18 (JnNURM) and A Rita of ward no.14 (Appointment) have also been named in the complaints forwarded to the Chairperson.
