Status report of Yamthong Haokip submitted

Imphal, June 06 2019: Superintendent of Police, Manipur Central Jail, submitted the health status report of Saikul MLA Yamthong Haokip today, as per the direction of the Court of Special Judge NIA Manipur, in connection with a bail application filed by the MLA's counsel on health ground.

It may be mentioned that Yamthong Haokip is present lodged in judicial custody under medical treatment at JNIMS in connection with arms missing case of 2nd MR arms kote.

The medical report was furnished to the Special PP and to the counsel of the MLA during the proceeding and further, the Court fixed June 14 for the NIA to file a written objection, if any as well as for the hearing of the bail application.

The fresh bail application of MLA Yamthong Haokip was filed on June 3 after the Court rejected his previous bail application which was filed on the same ground on November 6 last year.

It may also be mentioned that MLA Yamthong Haokip was arrested on August 24 last year by NIA in connection with arms missing case and before his arrest, an NIA team raided his residence at Mantripukhri on July 30 and 31 .

The Court also recently released Thokchom Diamond, KRA Chief David Hangsing, H Talung Pungphinami, Mathurabasimayum Hiranjoy and Laishram Damudor, due to lack of sufficient evidence.
