Set parameters of Modi-NSCN(IM) talks: CPI

The CPI will launch a mass agitation on May 14 demanding the parameters of the proposed Narendra Modi and the NSCN(IM) talks and protesting against the anti-farmer Land Acquisition Bill, 2015.This was stated by the state council of CPI secretary Moirangthem Nara during a press conference in the party office on Monday.
Nara further said that even though the Modi government has not completed even one year.
However there have been lots of anti Muslim and anti Christian activities including destruction of churches.
The June 18 mass uprising was against the decision taken by the BJP led government under Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
The Modi government wants to come to a conclusion of the ongoing talks with the NSCN(IM) .
Brushing aside the history of Manipur the ceasefire was extended without territorial limits by the NDA government.
He reiterated that the CPI is all for the protection of the territorial integrity of Manipur and is demanding the status report of the talks.
He said that the recent meeting of the left parties had asserted the protection of the territorial integrity and repeal of the AFSPA and the party shall stand for the people of Manipur.
All these years the government has been holding talks with the NSCN(IM).
There have been indications that the talks may be soon concluded.
The government is trying to acquire 30% of the paddy fields, said N Mangi of the CPI .
Ge informed the April 14 rally is a serious step in countering the government's move.
He also said that there was need for separate battalion for the VDF personnel.
