"We defend villages, plant crops in the field" : VVF takes 'praiseworthy' roles

The Village Volunteer Force (VVF), Manipur which was formed to safeguard Meitei villages has taken up several other praiseworthy initiatives with a vision to make Meitei society more vibrant.
Apart from guarding Meitei villages, the VVF has been giving self defence training to the people who have attained the age of 18 and engage in other initiatives to imbibe work culture and a sense of patriotism among the villagers.
Speaking to the media, general secretary of VVF Athokpam Chinglemba said that VVF was formed after Kuki militants and their associates started attacking Meitei villages at Churachandpur, Torbung, Moreh, Dolaithabi etc by wielding only heavy and sharp objects to fight the aggression.
Saying that many of their volunteers now at least have license guns to protect Meitei villages, he clarified that VVF, however, is a lawful organisation and hasn't violated the international law and provisions of the Constitution on any occasion.
Continuing that the violence in Manipur was orchestrated by narco-terrorists from Myanmar who want to break the State apart, Chinglemba expressed desire for the Centre and the State Government to understand the gravity of the situation and act accordingly with a farsighted vision.
The vision of VVF is to make Meitei society and Manipur as a whole robust again, he said and added that every youngsters and adults must not only be prepared to face the external aggression but also understand the geo-politics of India to keep Manipur intact.
Work culture, discipline, education and a sense of patriotism are of paramount importance to emerge victorious from the ongoing conflict and make Meitei society more vibrant, Chinglemba continued.
Apart from safeguarding Meitei villages, the VVF has also been planting different crops at Wangoo, Tekcham, Tentha, Langathel, Hiyanglam, Irengbam, Keinou, Leimaram, Kadangband, Mayang Langjing, Moidangpok etc to inculcate work culture among the people, he said and added that they also have been giving a training on self defence to people who have attained the age of 18 .
