Imphal, November 05 2017:
State Government employees have decided to undertake pen down strike on November 8 in case five fellow employees who have been suspended for participating in a mass casual leave strike demanding implementation of the 7th Pay are not reinstated to their respective posts by November 7 .
A decision to this effect was adopted during a general body meeting of the Manipur Government Services Federation (MGSF) held today .
The five employees who were arrested on October 25 and freed after furnishing PR bonds the next day only to be suspended the same evening are M Iboyaima (GAD), A Indubala (Edn-S), P Shyamkumar (LDA), L Deven (LDA) and N Jugeshwar (Edn-S) .
The meeting noted that the Government did great injustice to the five employees by suspending them for their participating in the mass casual leave strike .
If their suspension orders are not revoked by November 7, there would be pen down strike the next day, said a key member of MGSF.
Whereas the fitment committed headed by the Chief Secretary as chairman sought 10 days time for submitting a report to the Government about implementation of the 7th Pay, MGSF gave 20 days to the committee by adding 10 more days to what it sought.
Meanwhile, MGSF has convened another meeting on November 14 to decide further course of action.
