Imphal, March 05 2019:
Manipur State Disaster Management Authority, Vice Chairman Adim Pamei has mooted the idea of sending three MPs from the State to address the issue of depriving candidature rights of the people from seven valley constituencies of Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency as well as to make it more convenient for addressing the grievances of the State.
He was speaking as the chief guest during a one day political conference organized by Human Development Organization, Sekmaijin at Sekmaijin under the theme 'Lets come together to make Manipur Jewel Again'.
The Vice Chairman said that the State needs at least three Parliamentary seats, so that the inclusive voice of the people of the State, including those from the Assembly Constituencies whose citizens have been deprived of candidature rights till date, can reach the Parliament, while reminding that there are seven Assembly segments of Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency which are allowed to cast vote in Lok Sabha Election but are still deprived of candidature rights.
Observing that adequate rooms for letting the voices of the people of the said seven Constituencies from valley region should be given in the Parliament, Adim Pamei assured that he would urge the authority concerned to do the needful.
Claiming that the bond between the people of hills and valley has strengthened during the past few years, he expressed hope that maintaining strong bond between the hills and valley people will bring peace and remarkable development in the State.
Many other community leaders and volunteers of Human Development Organization also attended the function as presidium members.
