One more held in assault case

Imphal, November 04 2024: Imphal West district police on Sunday arrested another individual involved in the assault of two youths, namely V Hrangao Blesson Poumai and Dalou Poumai of Kodom Khullen and Liyai Khullen of Senapati district, in Lamsang area on October 31, from Naoremthong in Imphal West district.

The arrested person has been identified as Khullem Sanjeep alias Bhim (30) s/o (L) Tomba of Naoremthong DC Road.

According to a press note released by the Manipur Police Control Room on Sunday, police arrested Sanjeep, a member of Arambai Tenggol, on Sunday.

He has been remanded to police custody till November 8 for questioning.

Mention may be made here that police had already arrested one Senjam Suraj (25) s/o S Nilakomol Meitei of Lamsang from Lamphel area on November 1 in connection with the incident.

Suraj is a cadre of banned outfit, KCP.

Police intensified operations to arrest the culprits involved in the assault and loot case aftermath of several organisations including the United Naga Council demanding early justice in the case.

Mention may be made that both Arambai Tenggol and KCP (Ibungo Ngangom) group had denied involvement in the assault case with one side blaming the other for the crime.
