Kohima police on alert mode

Dimapur, September 04 2014: In view of the indefinite highway bandh in Manipur imposed by United Naga Council (UNC) since 6 am today, Kohima police (Nagaland) has taken up measures so that no untoward incidents occur under its jurisdiction in Nagaland.

The foot patrolling and vehicular patrolling by the police along the national highway from Dimapur till Mao Gate (Nagaland-Manipur border) has begun since yesterday evening.

Kohima police said this initiative has been taken in view of the bandh called by United Naga Council (UNC) Manipur on the vehicular movement along their jurisdiction and the "likely resultant" of vehicles and passengers being stranded along the national highway.

Kohima police has asked public to contact its public utility numbers for any assistance.

The public have been requested to keep note of the same and avail help and assistance whenever required.
