Nonetheless, the MLA assured that he will press the State Government for granting the required fund for construct toilet and urinal section in the market complex.
While charging the Border Road Organisation (BRO) in the State of failing to perform and carry on its duties efficiently, MLA Nunghlung Victor stated that the State Government handed over the work for mending the road stretch from Pallel to Chandel as well as from Chandel to Chakpikarong in 2009.But the DPR for the work has not been even completed till today, thus, subjecting the people to lots of problems.
If the BRO is to mend the road, probably it would take many more years to complete it.
"Considering the negligence of BRO and the problem faced by the people, I have brought up the matter on the floor of the State Assembly and had also urged the Chief Minister at my personal level to take back the work from BRO and complete the work by the State PWD", the MLA informed the gathering, and appealed to the people for their cooperation in developing Chandel district to the maximum.
MLA Janghemlung Panmei stated that the State Government is not only concerned over the development of the valley but is also trying its level best to develop the hill districts and for this, the State Government has sanctioned a large amount of funds exclusively for the development of hill regions.
It is very unfortunate that some sections of the society are trying to create distrust among the people of the hills and the plains by spreading false messages that the State Government is concerned only with the development of the valley, which is false, he added.
