Imphal, June 03 2011: Giving befitting tributes to one of the greatest Manipuri satirists of all time, the 15th death anniversary of GC Tongbra was observed under the aegis of The Society Theatre at MDU Hall here today.

A large number of people turned up to pay their homage and offered floral tributes at the occasion attended by MLA Dr Kh Loken Singh as chief guest, Director of Art and Culture Dr K Sobita as guest of honour and president of The Society Theatre K Omnath Singh as functional president.

Apart from a lecture on the life and works of GC Tongbra, delivered by president of Art Society Thoidingjam Tombi Singh, Meitei Chanu, a satirical play written by GC Tongbra was also staged as part of his death anniversary observation.
