PDF to be named PDA from now on
Committee formed to chart out common minimum programme

With expansion of People's Democratic Front (PDF), an alliance of five political parties to 11 political parties, the name of the Front has been changed to People's Democratic Alliance (PDA) .
Announcing this to media persons late today evening at the quarters of ex-Minister Ph Parijat, Dr M Nara, spokesperson, PDA said that with inclusion of All India Trinamool Congress, CPI, MSCP, NPP, NPF and Lok Jana Shakti, it has been agreed upon to change the name of the alliance from People's Democratic Front (PDF) to People's Democratic Alliance (PDA) .
He further disclosed that a meeting of the alliance held today at the quarter of ex-Minister Ph Parijat resolved to form a non-Congress government in the state and said that a consultative committee comprising of nine members has been formed to work out common minimum programme of PDA.
The nine members are Dr Nimaichand Luwang, Kh Devabratta, Dr M Nara, Kh Azang Khongshai, M Tombi, Somi Keishing, Y Iboyaima, K Sharatkumar and Ksh Shanta.
Dr Nara informed that an application has been submitted to Election Commission of India to make PDA a Constitutionally viable one.
However, no decision has been taken as to who should be the Convener of the PDF, hence there will be daily meeting of all the 11 political parties included in the PDA, he added.
