Bikers rally to spread message of peace

The Egalitarian Manipur of the Altruists (EMA) Trust on Sunday organised a motorcycle rally under the banner of "Call for Peace and Support of Children affected during the Ongoing Manipur Conflict".
Over 250 bikers from RE 650 Club Manipur, Native Throttlers, Thangjing Thumpers Moirang, Mecklet Royal Riders, Salai Athouba Kangleipak, Hiyang Riders Manipur, Sanamahi Motors and Royal Motors participated in the rally which was flagged off from Kangla Western Gate, Imphal.
The rally covered Imphal, Bishnupur, Moirang, Kumbi, Kakching, Thoubal and Canchipur before concluding at Kakwa Pechu Lampak.
In Kakching, the bikers also planted tree saplings at Angaan Ching Eco Park.
Speaking to the media, EMA Trust president Colonel (retired) Shantikumar Sapam said that the rally was organised to spread the message of peace and seek support of the children who have been affected by the ongoing conflict in the State.
EMA Trust secretary Umakanta Sharma said that since the conflict began on May 3, 2023, the trust has been providing all possible assistance to the affected people.
"Till date, the trust has extended financial support to 74 students.
We also have a list of 114 students who will be given financial support soon", he added.
