Imphal, January 03 2014 :
Two men have been arrested by police for allegedly gang-raping a-14-year-old girl on the night of December 31 here.
"Elisa (name changed) is my niece, I chose to adopt her after my brother died young," said her adoptive mother, Achung Gangmei, 52, a resident of Happy Valley, a locality in Tarung Khul here, while talking to reporters at Regional Institute of Sciences (RIMS) in Imphal on Friday.
The victim and her mother were visiting the Forensic Science, RIMS for medical examination in connection with the alleged gang-rape case.
The police have arrested the two accused, Aboi Simray, 30, a resident of Nagaram, now staying at Sangathel, and Asang Simray, 29, who hails from Deulahland, Imphal.
Aboi first raped the girl inside a car at Punshi Rehabilitation Centre near Nagaram.
Then, the second accused again raped her in his house the same night.
According to Achung, Asang Simray is the boyfriend of her daughter's friend from the same locality.
That night, Elisa went to a local church owned by Rongmei Naga Baptist Association (RNBA) at Tarung Khul in Imphal.
She did not return home along with the family after the worship, telling that she would come back in a while with her friend.
She, however, failed to return home.
The next morning, the family got information that she was at the house of another friend in Namdulong.
Elisa along with her friend and the two accused, both friends, were having a good time nearby the church that night.
As her friend left the place after she was asked to go back home by her parents, Elisa was with the duo.
She stayed back there since her friend told her that she would return soon.
In the meantime, the duo forcibly put her into an Alto car and committed the crime.
