Imphal, August 02 2024: A committee called the "6th Phase Anganwadi Centre Construction Work Agencies Committee" has been formed to pursue and demand the release of the remaining installment amount for construction of Anganwadi Centre buildings under the Social Welfare Department, Manipur.

The committee was formed during a meeting of the empanelled work agencies held on July 29, 2024 at Namdunlong Community Hall.

According to a release issued by the 6th Phase Anganwadi Centre Construction Work Agencies Committee, the District Rural Development Agencies (DRDAs) had initiated and issued work orders in 2020 for the construction of Anganwadi Centre buildings under the Social Welfare Department.

The estimated cost was Rs 3,91,906 while the work order amount was Rs 4,42,857.All empanelled work agencies completed the construction works and submitted completion reports, which were duly inspected and verified by the concerned department and agencies in 2021.The first installment amount was disbursed to the empanelled work agencies, but the remaining installment has not been paid/disbursed till date.

Furthermore, the committee urged the authorities concerned to look into the matter and release the remaining installment amount promptly.
