Imphal, July 02 2019: Rajya Sabha MP K Bhabananda has categorically stated that he does not sanction or execute any work under the MP Local Area Development Fund (MPLADF) .

A press release issued by the MP rejected all the allegations of misuse of MPLADF as reported in some electronic and print media, and social media as baseless.

The role of the MP is limited only to recommending works and it is the responsibility of the district authorities to approve, sanction, execute and complete the works within stipulated periods.

It is not proper to put the entire blame on the MP for everything, Bhabananda said.

All the activities under the MPLADF are implemented by the Imphal West DC and works to be taken up under the scheme are also sanctioned by the DC.

"In the circumstantial nature of implementation of works under MPLADF, the allegations made against me are baseless and it is an attempt to defame me", he decried.

"If any newspaper or media house wants to seek any information regarding utilisation of MPLADF and implementation of works, it can be sought from the office of the Imphal West DC instead of wrongly blaming me to tarnish my image", the Rajya Sabha MP asserted.
