Imphal, May 02 2019: A combined team of Imphal East district commando and a column of 6 Assam Rifles, arrested an active underground cadre along with two Chinese made hand grenades from Moirangpurel Khunou Leikai under Maphou Dam PS today morning.

According to a reliable source, acting on specific information regarding the presence of some active underground members in and around Moirangpurel area, a combined team of Imphal East commando and a column of 6 Assam Rifles rushed to the spot and conducted frisking and checking around Moirangpurel Khunou Leikai.

A suspicious individual was detained for verification and he identified himself as Yumkhaibam Lukhoi alias Aboy (27) s/o (L) Maipak of Andro Khuman (presently staying at Moirangpurel Khunou Leikai) .

Lukhoi further revealed that he joined the outfit through one Imoba in the month of October, 2017 and is presently working under his command.

He also revealed that he had kept two Chinese hand grenades concealed at his residence and as such, the combined team recovered the two grenades which were buried in the backyard of his house.

Lukhoi was arrested soon after and he was handed over to Maphou Dam PS, along with the seized grenades.
