CorCom expels UPPK

The UPPK, one of the constituent members of the Coordination Committee (CorCom) of several armed groups has been expelled from the committee.
A decision to this effect was adopted in the sixth convention of CorCom held from December 19 to 29 last year.
The same resolution was conveyed to UPPK leaders during a joint meeting with CorCom leaders held from January 28 to 31 this year and UPPK was formally expelled from the committee on January 31. Elaborating on the factors leading to expulsion of UPPK from the committee, CorCom said that UPPK advisor Meisnam Biren alias Chamba of Sagolband Meino Leirak, Chairman Bonbihari alias Laangamba of Thangmeiband, External Affairs Secretary Lousangbam Kritibabu Mangang alias Uraaba of Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Leikai and Assistant Publicity secretary Laishram Ranjit alias Khuman of Mayang Imphal left the committee without giving any reason.
After the suspicious arrest of General Secretary Ningthoujam Santi alias Chinglemba Mangang of Waheng Leikai, Finance Secretary Langpoklakpam Inaocha alias Birjit of Konjeng Leikai and Organisation Secretary Konthoujam Homeshwor alias Chingkhei Konthoujam, a chaotic situation developed within the organisational set-up of UPPK and it became no longer fit to be a member of CorCom.
Another compelling reason for expulsion of UPPK was close contact maintained by UPPK leaders with Indian agents.
